After a long and difficult process of evaluation, with over 80 applications from 14 different countries, the selection committee determined that the winner of the first edition of the Sport 4 Children Award was Terres en Mêlées for their “Alafia Rugby pour la Paix” project.

The Alafia – Rugby pour la Paix project will be implemented in the African countries of Burkina Faso and Togo. The project will have as direct beneficiaries 1.500 boys and girls between 6 and 15 years old. In a region characterized by ethnic, religious, cultural and political diversity, Terres en Mêlées aims to transmit to children through sport, a foundation of common values and to spread a culture of non-violence. This will ultimately contribute to enable children to live happy, healthy, productive, meaningful, and rewarding lives.

The next edition of the Sport 4 Children Award will be in 2027.
