Sport 4 Children Award

Launched in 2021, the Sports 4 Children Award is dedicated to improving children’s lives through the power of sport, supporting programmes that nurture wellbeing, build confidence, and open doors to brighter futures.

Overview

The Sport 4 Children Award is the Boustany Foundation’s first in-house initiative, launched in 2021 to champion the role of sport in early childhood development. It reflects the Foundation’s commitment to helping children live happy, healthy, productive, and meaningful lives.

We believe sport, especially in group settings, can be a powerful way to engage and inspire young children. It supports physical health while also strengthening mental and emotional wellbeing. Through sport, children learn teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and confidence, and they often experience reduced stress and a more positive mood.

Team play also helps children develop essential social skills for life. It teaches cooperation, listening, and consideration for others. Sport also encourages respect for structure and shared rules, helping children learn to follow guidance and accept decisions.
